It's Monday!

And time for a little update on what I've been doing.

I have finished a set of digital journaling cards for the 'Ocean Friends' collaborative kit Anne is putting together. The kit will go an sale July 15th at Creative Dreams and all money raised goes to the recreational therapy department at Shriners Chicago. And if you check out the Creative Dreams Blog right now, Anne not only has a great digi glitter tutorial but she also has a CU glitter tile freebie.

I've also signed up for the 'Got Sketch 101' class being taught by Valerie Salmon and Janna Wilson. It starts June 9th and runs for 3 weeks.

At the same time I am going to try to keep up with the Willow Trader Scrapvivor contest which starts June 1st. Although given the number of talented scrapbookers participating, I could be eliminated before the Got Sketch class even starts. LOL

Truly Inspiring!

I have started working on my first digital elements. Just journaling cards so far, but it's a start. I was inspired by Anne Schlegel from ASB/Creative Dreams and her daughter Tiana. At Tiana's request, Anne is creating a special kit and the proceeds from the sale of the kit will go to the recreational therapy department at the Shriners Hospital in Chicago. Read more about the story behind the kit at Anne's blog.

A Couple More Layouts.

This one is a lift of a layout by Carrie Postma (from Personal Scrapper).

And this one is for a monthly challenge on ASB called 'Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life'. (What you do is scrap the alphabet, at least 1 entry for each letter, all of the little, ordinary things in your life. Pages can be big or small, with or without pictures. No rules really except you should have at least 1 entry for each letter.)

I have one more layout and a couple of cards yet to finish, but I have to say NSD was the most productive scrapping I have done in a while.

A Few Pictures and Layouts For You.

First here are a couple of pictures from the Paper-Arts-A-Thon(PAAT). The first is the place setting that greeted us when we arrived. The small square box held a lovely beaded bracelet.

Next are samples of a few of the Make and Takes. Some still need to be completed. The beautiful gift bag was designed by my sister Amber. I can now reveal that she was the surprise guest celebrity from the PAAT blog.

Now on to some of the layouts I completed. I used a lot of sketches (especially from Basic Grey's newsletters) and NSD challenges from Lovebug Scrapbooking and Personal Scrapper.

I have to say that this just might be my favourite layout ever! I used 2 different BG sketches (July and November 2007) and combined them with 2 different challenges and it is just perfect. IMHO

Another BG sketch (March 2008) combined with a challenge.

Yet another BG sketch (January 2007) combined with a challenge. LOL

Just a Quick Update.

Amber and I got home at 5:30 this morning after an incredibly successful Paper-Arts-A-Thon. This wonderful group of paper crafting women raised over $11,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation! I hope to have pictures from the event uploaded tomorrow. I didn't get a chance today, as I just had enough time for a few hours sleep before my son's hockey party. Myleta and her dream team are planning on hosting another event next year with a different charity to benefit and I can't wait!

Only 18 Hours To Go!

And then Amber and I will be at the Paper-Arts-A-Thon. I can't wait! It's been over a year since I have been to a crop. I'm all packed except for a few more photos. I just realized I've never done a layout about DS and his glasses and he's had them for 7 months. So guess whose picture I'll be printing tonight. lol I hope everyone has a great NSD weekend!
